Slovenian expert translations - probicon translation agency

A few facts about Slovenian

There are around 2.5 million native Slovenian speakers, the majority of whom live in Slovenia. Slovenian is the official language of Slovenia and an official language of Friuli Venezia Giulia (an autonomous region in Italy), of Carinthia (a region in Austria) and of the European Union. Slovenian is also classified as a recognised minority/regional language in Styria (a region in Austria) and in Hungary.

Slovenian (slovenščina) belongs to the Slavic branch of the Indo-European language family. It has its own variation of the Latin alphabet – the Slovene alphabet. The modern Slovenian alphabet was established with the additional letters č, š and ž in the mid-19th century and the Slovenian language was codified around 1900.
